We are looking for volunteers to get involved in Wonderstruck – a unique large-scale performance event, taking place at Manchester Museum over the weekend of 15 & 16 November 2014.

Created by Daniel Bye, Sarah Punshon and Boff Whalley, and inspired by the museum’s collections,Wonderstruck will combine text, movement and song to create a weekend of wonderful surprises for museum visitors. The piece will involve more than 100 performers from across the North West, aged 8 to 80.

As a volunteer, you can help us to make the event happen and find out how people respond to the performance. You will be a key part of the project, working closely with the artistic team and museum staff, whilst learning about museum operations, and gaining valuable professional experience.

Stage management volunteers will receive training from the artistic team and museum staff, and attend at least one choir rehearsal. You will work closely with a group of performers, keeping track of schedules, and making sure performers are in the right place at the right time.

Commitment:

You must be available for an induction session on Thursday 30 October 2-4pm, a training session w/c 3 November, a rehearsal or briefing session w/c 10 November, and for the weekend itself: Friday 14 November, 4-10pm; Saturday 15 November, 10am-6pm; Sunday 16 November, 10am-6pm.
