Julie is a social psychologist at the University of Lincoln. She has collaborated with People United on a range of research projects since 2011. Most of these research projects involve large-scale quantitative research to examine whether and how the arts may foster kindness.

Julie completed her undergraduate (2007-2010), masters (2011-2012), and doctoral (2012-2016) degrees at the University of Kent (supervised by Professor Dominic Abrams). She joined the University of Lincoln in 2016 as a Lecturer in Social Psychology.

Her research employs both experimental and correlational methods and lab-based and field-based studies to further develop our understanding of prosociality and prejudice. Julie’s approach is to understand not just the processes at work but also the practical steps for intervention.
