Ways of Seeing – the body as metaphor
Jasmin Vardimon is a dancer, choreographer and artistic director of the award winning Jasmin Vardimon Company. Her work is highly original; fusing dance, theatre, text and sound to create visually and physically stunning performance that explore the human experience through offering the viewer multiple perspectives.
Simone Schnall is Director of the Cambridge Embodied Cognition and Emotion Laboratory. She is particularly interested in how “embodiment” informs and constrains our thoughts and feelings, and is currently investigating the interactions between bodily cues, judgment and decision-making, and behaviour.
Together they will consider the potential of dance to help us reflect on other perspectives and ways of seeing, a key ability in the development of prosocial attitudes and behaviours.
