I’m writing this live from the ticket desks at the Southbank Centre. I’ve been given access to the screens above the ticket desks, so I can write a message and it will appear above our heads.
I’ve experimented with what to say – I thought I had it planned before I came but of course live you realise you have to adjust your approach. Like planning an important conversation but wanting it to sound spontaneous – it rarely does – presumably why acting is so hard.
The simplest and most effective thing seems to be a message asking people to come and say hello. The choice is theirs.
