Chief Executive Officer
Full-time, permanent, starting salary c. £37,000 p.a. depending on experience.
During her four and a half years with us, our current Chief Executive Officer has steered the charity successfully through our founder’s planned departure and an exciting time of organisational growth. With an expanding team, a new Business Plan and four years of NPO funding in place, she has decided that now is a good time to hand over the role to someone new, who will take the charity into its next chapter.
We are therefore now looking for our next Chief Executive Officer to take People United from its current sound footings into an even stronger and bolder future version of itself.
This is a full-time role, with some flexibility about what kind of working pattern is agreed as long as it supports our team, our programmes and our external stakeholder relationships. The current Chief Executive Officer will be stepping out of her role in Autumn 2018, but will also be very happy to have handover conversations and meetings with the new Chief Executive Officer whenever they start. Meanwhile, we have contingency plans in place to support the organisation if there is (as we expect) a gap between her leaving and the new Chief Executive Officer starting.
This is such a great opportunity for someone to lead an enthusiastic and committed team, and work with a really supportive Board of Trustees to imagine and deliver future opportunities from a position of real organisational strength.
It will suit someone with a proven track record in inspiring confidence in funders, partners and colleagues, and who knows how to keep a charity healthy and compliant. Above all, it will suit someone who shares our vision of a society that is kind, caring and equitable, and who gets excited about proving that the arts and creativity can inspire kindness and social change.
Application deadline: 5:00pm, Monday 1st October 2018.
First round interviews (London): currently planned for Thursday 11th October 2018
Second round interviews (location tbc): currently planned for Fri 19th October 2018; those shortlisted for second interview will also be invited to an informal meeting with the team in Canterbury.
