Lunsford Primary School, Larkfield, Aylesford, Kent. Early evening (4:45-6:30pm)
Who are the people that you treasure in your life? Who do you look up to and why? These are some of the questions we have been asking in this year’s artist commission around the theme of Role Models.
During the autumn term in Lunsford Primary School pupils have been getting to know Steampunk Bob – a quirky inventor who keeps popping up and hanging out at their school. They have also been creating poems with poet-extraordinaire John Hegley and singing with choir leader Gitika Partington. This is a final performance celebrating some of the commission’s explorations, curated by artist, performer and musician Bob Karper (AKA Steampunk Bob). At the heart of this commission has been the bringing together of children from the school with residents from local care homes, working with artist Shula Hawes, to share their stories, understand each other’s lives and cherish the people that they treasure.
This event is free and drop-in. All are welcome from the school and local community.
