Julie Van de Vyver
Associate
Julie is a social psychologist at Durham University. She has collaborated with People United on a range of research projects since 2011. Most of these research projects involve large-scale quantitative research to examine whether and how the arts may foster kindness.
Her research employs both experimental and correlational methods and lab-based and field-based studies to further develop our understanding of prosociality and prejudice. Julie’s approach is to understand not just the processes at work but also the practical steps for intervention. She is particularly interested experimentally testing the potential of arts engagement for promoting prosociality across communities.
