Hut 38
We're offering our beach hut in Herne Bay to local organisations and individuals interested in creative approaches towards caring for themselves, each other and our coastal environments.
To celebrate our 20th Anniversary of People United, we have a new space to offer to our local coastal community.
In 2006, we launched our first major project Hut 136, a beach hut in Herne Bay to explore creativity and kindness. Now, 20 years later, we’re running another residency — Hut 38. This time with care at the centre.
Our Hut 38 residency is open to anyone who lives or works on the East Kent Coast, including local organisations, individuals, artists, creatives, care workers, youth workers, and anyone who wants space and time to explore creative approaches to caring.
You can apply to use the space yourself or with your organisation, from June to October 2026. Applications are open now!

Hut 38 is available from June to end of October 2026, on Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Your residency will be between 1 – 8 days.
