The Empathy Roadshow was a commission by Sarah Woods exploring the concept of empathy in collaboration with Kent County Council.

The interactive one-woman show toured community groups in Canterbury and Swale in 2013.Following each performance, Sarah interviewed people gathering more stories and experiences along the way. From her research she identified a number of key themes around empathy – ‘feeling someone else’s pain’, imitation and learning, and perspective-taking and she then created a performance that juxtaposed a wider scientific narrative with personal, everyday stories.
